In November, the Alexander Chapter unveiled Carolina & North-Western #401, the first piece of narrow gauge equipment to go on display at the SE Narrow Gauge & Shortline Museum in Newton, NC. The car was originally built circa 1877 for the Chester & Lenoir Narrow Gauge (later the C&N-W), and then sold to the Lawndale Railway in 1900 when the C&N-W standard gauged their line. The upper photo shows the car when it was received in 2009.
